Global Learning

St. Patrick’s Primary School is now taking part in the new Global Learning initiative from Primary1-7. Global learning involves a number of key areas-

  • Social injustice, Globalisation and Development.

  • Global Poverty and Hunger – and the Aid needed.

  • Fair Trade.

  • Conflict and Resolution.

  • Human Rights and Children’s Rights.

  • Interdependence.

  • Environment and Sustainability.

  • Social Justice.

  • Global Citizenship.

  • Climate Change.

  • Global Wealth and Power.

The aim of Global Learning is to educate the children in Global Issues. We aim to develop essential skills, knowledge and attitudes to enable children to contribute to a fair and sustainable world. Children will know their roles and responsibilities as a Global Citizen. This includes the three E’s – Enrichment, Education and Empowerment.

Through the Global learning programme we would like to encourage the children to work for a world free from poverty, where all humans are treated with respect and dignity.

Global learning hopes individuals, communities, businesses and countries behave and develop in a way which meets the needs of the present without compromising the needs of others and future generations.
